Acupuncture Sunderland

Arriving for your appointment
SR6 0QA - Postcode for Sat Nav
Please arrive for your appointment on time. Give yourself plenty of time to settle or pop to the loo before your appointment so you don't feel rushed when you begin your treatment
When you arrive, please take a seat in the reception area and I will come and get you
There is free parking in the centre. Please park to the front of the building for appointments before 3.30pm and come through the main reception doors
For appointments after 3.30pm - when you drive into the centre car park, turn right and follow the building round baring left, you will come to blue gates - you can park anywhere within that car park except for the bays marked in blue. Front doors are closed after 5pm, this is to save you having to walk the distance back to your car.
Please either come to the blue door or wait in your car and I will come and get you at your appointment time.
Appointments

I do have evening appointments available - they tend to get taken quickly so if you can only do late appointments, or you are restricted to certain days/times - it would be best for you to book your appointments a few in advance to ensure you can get the times you need
Please wear loose fitting clothing, or bring something to change into privately in clinic - there is a coat hanger in the treatment area to keep your belongings with you/hang your clothes
The needles used are very fine, not what you are used to at the Dr's. The right length and width are used for you personally. Acupuncture illicits some sensations that can feel strange at first - it's very normal to feel a heavy sensation where the needle is inserted, or for your limbs to feel heavy/gone to sleep. It's normal to feel ' shooting ' sensations or sometimes a sensation like trickling water. Generally the needles are inserted too quick for your brain to establish a pain response & most you won't even feel. Sometimes, especially on your 1st few sessions as you'll naturally be a bit more tense (as much as I love Acupuncture, I appreciate someone putting needles into you isn't an everyday occurrence for most!), there can be a slight sharp sensation that lasts for seconds. If there's ever anything you aren't sure of when on the treatment bed, always just ask me.
Needles are sterilised and single use, which are put into a sharps bin and destroyed correctly once used. Fresh needles are always used and a needle won't even be used twice on yourself - e.g if I have to reposition a needle, I will dispose of the old one and use a fresh one.
All hygiene practices are fully adhered to. I am a member of The British Acupuncture Federation and the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians - who are governing bodies in the U.K for Acupuncture and have a strict set of standards that I am contracted to adhere to.
I am fully registered, licenced and inspected by Sunderland Council both as an Acupuncturist and the clinic premises.
If you haven't already booked your follow on appointments, you can either book them online at your convenience here, or I can book it for you in clinic and take your deposit on the day - just let me know your preference
You can find more information on the treatment process here
There are bottles of water and (vegan) sugar sweets next to the door in the clinic room - please feel free to take one
If you are looking to book your 1st appointment, please either email me kellykingacupuncture@outlook.com or complete the contact form here
If you need to contact me to ask any questions in between treatments - please do feel free - email is the best method, but you can leave a voicemail if you prefer (0191 300 2518) and I will get back to you. There's only me dealing with admin, so sometimes it may be 24 hours before I get back to you (Mon-Fri), but I will always get back to you.
If you are sending me updates, screenshots of apps or tongue photos, please email me
