Working with me

Let's talk...

...about working with me.

I pride myself on providing a comfortable, safe and judgement free environment, where we can chat openly and come to a solution together.

Coming to see me isn't about getting a foot rub and some 'woo', (neither of which you will receive!).

I have spent over £30k on my education for Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture alone, to be able to provide you with effective treatment.  For my degree (which is a Bachelor's of Science) and continuing professional development, I am trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Bio Medicine (Western Medicine)

Everything is discussed from a western medicine perspective, then TCM and Acupuncture will be used to compliment treatment you are already receiving in relation including IVF Cycles and medications.  You may be asked to undergo further testing, inc. blood work.

The beauty of TCM is there is always a diagnosis, of which there isn't always in western medicine (unexplained fertility issues or being told to take some medications and crack on sound familiar?!), so we will always have something to work with.

Treatment is always personalised to you and it is constantly under review and fluid to move with progress - I research, review and adapt your treatment plan - the work I put in to help you is not just in the clinic room - I will always be looking for the most efficient way to have treatment success for you, we very much work together and you will always be a part of decisions for your treatment.

Time Frames & Co-Operation

When you are having Acupuncture with me, there can be some uncomfortable questions asked of you, especially if you are having fertility/IVF treatment.  E.g I will ask you in depth about your bleeds, your bowel movements, your mood.  I will ask to look at your tongue.  You can always choose not to answer questions that I ask, but the more honest you are with me, the better a treatment and outcome I can provide for you.  Trust between us is vital.

I ask that you come to see me weekly for treatment.  Outside of fertility treatment, this is generally for 6-8 weeks depending on your condition.

For fertility, I ask that you come to see me weekly for at least 3 full cycles, as this is the minimum amount needed to make a real difference - sometimes treatment can be for a longer period or will continue into your IVF cycle.

I will need to see as much information as you can provide me in relation to testing that has already been done, scans and blood work.

Sometimes I may ask that you undertake further tests either within the NHS or privately, generally with fertility treatment.

Sometimes I may suggest supplements and diet and lifestyle changes.

Your co-operation in your treatment is vital, it isn't just about coming weekly and having a few needles put in.  We'll work together properly to get a solution for you.
